丁子紅子 が、「第17回 アダチUKIYOE大賞」において大賞を受賞いたしました。
本賞は、「現代の浮世絵師としての可能性を秘めたアーティストの発掘」を目的に開催されており、今回は国内外から395点の応募の中から選出されました。
丁子紅子は、日本画材である岩絵具の魅力を活かし、白い肌や黒髪、そして限られた色彩によって構成される印象的な人物像を描いています。そのシンプルでありながら強い存在感を持つ表現が高く評価され、このたびの受賞に至りました。
今後は、副賞として現代の彫師・摺師との協働により、新たな木版画作品の制作が予定されています。

We are pleased to announce that Beniko Choji has been awarded the Grand Prize at the 17th Adachi UKIYOE Award. This award aims to discover artists with the potential to become contemporary ukiyo-e practitioners, and Choji was selected from 395 submissions from Japan and abroad. Choji’s work highlights the unique qualities of traditional Nihonga materials, particularly mineral pigments, to depict striking figures characterized by pale skin, dark hair, and a restrained color palette. Her expression—both minimal and powerfully present—was highly regarded, leading to this recognition. As part of the award, she will collaborate with contemporary master carvers and printers to produce a new series of woodblock prints.
