このたびSHABAでは、四季彩舎が提案する展覧会シリーズ「Art ENCOUNTERS」vol.7として、AKI山の個展を開催いたします。

AKI山は、2017年より独学で制作を始め、ヒビの表現を通して「新たな可能性」の象徴を描くアーティストです。彼にとって“ヒビ”とは、すべての物事の始まりであり、変化や進化へのきっかけ。偶然の中に現れるヒビから立ち上がる色彩は、壊れることを恐れずに次のステージへと踏み出す力を象徴しています。その作品は、抽象的なフォルムと強い色彩によって、観る者の内面にある希望や再生の感情を静かに揺り動かします。

昼はカフェのように親しみやすく、夜はラウンジとして落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出すSHABA。

その“二面性”ともいえる空間の表情に呼応するように、AKI山の作品が持つ時間性と物質性が融合し、場そのものの空気に新たな奥行きをもたらします。

お食事やお酒を嗜みながら、日常をほんの少し逸脱する、豊かなひと時をお楽しみください。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by AKIY as part of Art ENCOUNTERS vol.7, a series of exhibitions curated by SHIKISAISHA, hosted at SHABA.

AKIY began creating art independently in 2017. Through the recurring motif of “cracks,” he expresses the idea of new possibilities. For him, a crack is the beginning of all things—a sign of transformation and evolution. From these accidental fissures emerge vibrant colors, symbolizing the courage to break through and move forward. His abstract forms and bold palettes resonate with viewers, quietly stirring feelings of hope and renewal.

SHABA, which offers a welcoming café atmosphere by day and transforms into a calm, lounge-like space at night, presents an ideal setting for AKIYAMA’s work. The dual character of the venue harmonizes with the temporal and material qualities of his pieces, adding new layers of depth to the space itself.

Enjoy a moment slightly removed from the everyday—over a meal or a glass of wine—and discover unexpected encounters with art.

1981年埼玉県出身

2011年環境ビジネスにて起業。同時期に作品の創作を開始。

2021年よりアーティスト活動開始

偶然作品に入った「ヒビ割れ」。

その「ヒビ割れ」からは、下層に塗り隠されていたはずのアクリル絵の具が覗いた。

本来ネガティブにとらえられることの多い「ヒビ割れ」だが、「何かが壊れたとしても、そこから新しい可能性が生まれてくる。

このヒビ割れの下から覗く色は、希望の光としてみることができるのではないか」。

そう感じた私は、この作風を追究していくと決意し、「ヒビ割れ」をコントロールすべく試行錯誤を重ね、思い描いた通りの形や深さの「ヒビ割れ」を作品の上に走らせていく、独自の技法へと昇華した。

どんなことがあっても、何度壊れても、壊れているように見えても、その奥には希望があると思える。

そのような作品を生み出していくことが、私の今後の使命であると思う。

私の作品は、鑑賞する人の視点や環境によって作品の意味が複数表出する。

何を見出すかは、鑑賞する人の自由である。

目につくところを、自由に観て感じていただければと思う。

Born in 1981 in Saitama, Japan

Founded an environmental business in 2011, while beginning to create artworks.

Began professional artistic career in 2021.

It all began with a crack—a fissure that accidentally appeared in one of my works.

Through that crack, layers of acrylic paint hidden beneath the surface came into view.

What is often perceived as a negative flaw—“a crack”—suddenly appeared to me as something full of potential.

Even when something breaks, it can open the door to new possibilities.

The colors revealed beneath the cracks seemed to shine like rays of hope.

This experience led me to pursue this visual language, and I committed myself to mastering the technique.

Through repeated experimentation, I developed a unique method that allows me to intentionally control the shape and depth of cracks, transforming them into deliberate elements within my work.

No matter how many times something breaks—or appears to be broken—I believe there is always hope within.

Creating works that embody this belief has become my mission.

My artworks are open to interpretation. Depending on the viewer’s perspective and environment, their meaning may shift and multiply.

What you find in them is entirely up to you.

I simply hope you take the time to look, and feel freely, wherever your eyes are drawn.
