この度、四季彩舎では、画集『風痕―線の呼吸 1971‒2025』（ギャラリーステーション刊行）刊行にあわせ、
画業50年を迎えたムラカズユキの個展を開催いたします。
ムラカズユキは、巡礼者のように世界を旅しながら、線を描き続けてきた画家です。
イタリア、フランス、アイルランド、ポルトガル、スペイン、アメリカ、トルコをはじめ、ヨーロッパやアジア各地での滞在と制作を通じて、その表現を深化させてきました。
旅は、表現活動の原動力であり、人生そのものでもあります。
油彩、ろう画、エッチング、デッサン、木彫といった多様な表現に取り組みながらも、制作の原点には一貫して「線」があります。
それは完成を目指して整えられる線ではなく、間違いを含み込み、描き重ねられ、消されることなく画面に残されてきた線です。
風景や花、動物といったモチーフを描く際にも、その根底には裸婦素描で培われた身体的な線の感覚が息づいています。
稚拙さと洗練、無作為と構成、直感と経験といった相反する要素が、違和感なく同時に立ち現れるところに、この表現の特質があります。
本展では、近年作を中心に、油彩、ろう画、エッチング、デッサン、木彫による約18点の作品を展示いたします。
50年にわたる制作を貫いてきた「線の呼吸」を、現在の表現としてあらためて提示する展覧会です。
SHIKISAISHA is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Moura Kazuyuki, celebrating fifty years of his artistic career, held in conjunction with the publication of
Wind Traces: The Breath of Line 1971–2025 (Gallery Station).
Moura Kazuyuki is a painter who has continued to draw lines while traveling the world like a pilgrim.
Through extended stays and artistic practice across Europe and Asia—including Italy, France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, the United States, and Turkey—his expression has steadily deepened.
For him, travel has been the driving force behind his artistic practice and is inseparable from life itself.
While working across a wide range of media—including oil painting, encaustic, etching, drawing, and wood sculpture—the foundation of his practice has remained consistently rooted in line.
These lines are not refined toward a predetermined completion; rather, they embrace error, are drawn over repeatedly, and remain on the surface without being erased.
Even when depicting landscapes, flowers, or animals, his work is grounded in a bodily sense of line cultivated through life drawing.
Naivety and refinement, randomness and structure, intuition and experience—such opposing elements coexist seamlessly, forming the distinctive character of his expression.
This exhibition presents approximately eighteen works, centered on recent pieces, encompassing oil paintings, encaustic works, etchings, drawings, and wood sculptures.
Held in conjunction with the publication, the exhibition offers a renewed presentation of the breath of line that has run through Moura Kazuyuki’s fifty years of artistic practice, as expressed in his work today.
