SHIKISAISHA

We are pleased to announce that SHIKISAISHA will be hosting a group exhibition titled SHAFT, featuring six sculptors.

Curated by sculptor Yu Seto, this exhibition introduces promising young sculptors expected to make significant contributions in the future.

In addition to showcasing two to three new sculptures from each artist, we will distribute booklets containing special interview articles at the venue. Please enjoy the distinctive sculptural works, each highlighted by their unique materials and expressions.

この度、四季彩舎では彫刻家6名によるグループ展SHAFTを開催いたします。

本展では彫刻家瀬戸優がキュレーターとなり、これからの活躍が期待できる若手彫刻家を紹介いたします。

それぞれ2-3点ずつの新作彫刻の展覧に加え、会場では特別対談記事を含んだ冊子をお配りいたします。様々な素材と表現により個性際立つ彫刻作品をお楽しみください。

The term “SHAFT/Axis” is something that sculptors are conscious of first and foremost when creating their work. It is a word that represents the essence and core of sculpture. In today’s rapidly changing society, driven by technological advancements, the world of sculpture, too, seems to be at a turning point. To propose universal values amidst this change, it is essential to have a solid “axis.” For this exhibition, in my first role as a curator, I have invited five up-and-coming sculptors. I hope you can feel their spirit and determination as they challenge the new era. (Yu Seto)

"SHAFT/軸"という言葉は彫刻制作においてまず初めに意識するものであり、

彫刻の本質・根幹をなす言葉であると思っています。

テクノロジーが発展していく現代社会において、様々なものが急速に変動する時代ですが、

彫刻の世界もまた同様にひとつの転換期を迎えているように思います。

その中で普遍的な価値を提唱していくためにはしっかりとした「軸」を持つことが必要です。

本展では自身初のキュレーションという立場から、新進気鋭の彫刻家5人をお声がけさせていただきました。

新しい時代に挑戦する気概を感じていただけましたら幸いです。(瀬戸優)
