About ART ENCOUNTERS
四季彩舎が大宮にてキュレーションしている展覧会シリーズ「ART ENCOUNTERS」は、作家や表現の在り方に焦点を当て、作品と静かに向き合うための場をつくる試みです。
展示空間のスケールや距離感を大切にしながら、鑑賞者が作品と自然に出会い、それぞれの時間で作品受け取ることを目指しています。
本展では、堀内マキコの立体作品を中心に紹介します。
ART ENCOUNTERS is an ongoing exhibition series by SHIKISAISHA, introducing selected artists through focused presentations.
Through this series, SHIKISAISHA creates opportunities to encounter artworks in an intimate setting, allowing viewers to engage quietly and closely with each artist’s practice.
ART ENCOUNTERS #10 presents works by Makiko Horiuchi, focusing on her sculptural works.
堀内マキコ | Makiko Horiuchi
神奈川県出身、茨城県在住。
主に立体作品を制作。
日本民俗学における「マレビト」の概念を手がかりに
特撮やアニメ、日本のサブカルチャーと接続しながら
現代における人間像やコミュニケーションの在り方を探る。
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, based in Ibaraki.
Horiuchi works primarily with sculpture.
Drawing inspiration from the concept of “marebito” in Japanese folklore,
she explores contemporary human figures and modes of communication,
connecting traditional beliefs with influences from tokusatsu,
anime, and Japanese subculture.
