この度四季彩舎では瀬戸優を紹介。
瀬戸優は1994年に 生まれ、2014年より東京藝術大学美術学部彫刻科に入学、2015年から彫刻家である大森暁生氏のアシスタントを務めています。
瀬戸は自然の生命感を最大限に引き出すための造形を模索し、土、水など星の大きな力の循環の一部を切り取るような意識で制作しています。
粘土を素焼きしたテラコッタ(土器)は作家の触覚や軌跡がダイレクトに表面に現れ、躍動感のある作品となっています。
アートフェア東京2019では、「水」をテーマにライオン、ウサギ、フェネック、など個性豊かな動物たちの彫刻を展示します。

瀬戸優 Yu Seto
瀬戸優（1994年 神奈川県小田原市生まれ）は、東京藝術大学美術学部彫刻科を卒業後、同大学大学院美術研究科修士課程彫刻専攻を修了。
自然科学への関心を基盤に、主にテラコッタを用いて野生動物を主題とした彫刻作品を制作している。
作家の触覚や制作の軌跡を表面に残すことで、生命の構造や動き、存在の本質を捉えようと試みている。
国内外で作品を発表するほか、ファッションやデザインなど領域を横断した活動も展開している。
Yu Seto (b. 1994, Odawara, Kanagawa, Japan) graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts and completed his MFA in Sculpture at the same university. Drawing on his interest in natural science, he creates sculptures of wild animals, primarily using terracotta. By leaving traces of his touch and the sculpting process visible on their surfaces, Seto explores the structures and movements of living beings and the essence of their existence. In addition to exhibiting in Japan and internationally, his practice extends across disciplines, including collaborations in fashion and design.
