ShinQs Gallery 5 is pleased to present ‘Scenes of Abundance,’ a solo exhibition by Yasuhisa Yamamoto.

In recent years, Yamamoto has made ‘abundance’ the central theme of his work, quietly reflecting on the relationship between people and nature in contemporary society. In an age overflowing with material goods and information, the human figures, animals, flowers, mountains, and water he depicts appear as full, rounded forms. They evoke primordial landscapes in which people may have felt fulfilled both spiritually and physically, questioning the essence of the ‘abundance’ we are increasingly losing sight of.

Created with water-based paints, including casein tempera and acrylic, on canvas, panel, and hemp paper, his works embrace spontaneity and chance while exploring the possibilities of ‘Japanese pictorial space.’ The bleeding colors, layers, and traces of touch on the painted surfaces suggest the accumulation of time, drawing viewers into a more unhurried state of perception.

This exhibition presents Yamamoto’s ‘scenes of abundance’ through a body of work centered on painting, alongside three-dimensional works and drawings. We invite you to step away from the bustle of everyday life and encounter the works in a moment of calm, as if taking a quiet breath.
