2024年3月8日から23日まで、四季彩舎では初となる三平硝子の個展が開催されます。
今展では、アーティスト活動を始めた初期の作品から現在の作品に至るまで、彼の作品の変遷を垣間見ることができる構成で、約30点の作品を展示いたします。
彼の作品は、個々のストーリーと共感を持つ感情を重視し、自身の経験や出会った人々、世界の出来事からインスピレーションを得ています。
10年以上にわたるBMXのストリートカルチャーへの親しみも、その創作の原点となっています。
これらのモンスターは、経年劣化のない強化ガラスであるボロシリケートガラスを使用して制作されており、落下にも耐える頑丈さを持っています。
本展では、ガラス素材がもたらす圧倒的な存在感をお楽しみいただけます。
作品制作を始めた2019年辺りから2023年辺りまでの作品が展示されます。初期に作っていた作品は今とは異なる雰囲気があり、現在に至るまでの過程を知っていただける唯一の個展となりました。楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。（三平硝子）
From March 8 to March 23, 2024, SHIKISAISHA will present the gallery’s first solo exhibition by Shoko Mihira.
The exhibition features approximately 30 works, offering an overview of the artist’s development—from early pieces created at the beginning of his practice to his most recent works.
Mihira’s works place importance on individual narratives and emotionally resonant experiences, drawing inspiration from his own life, encounters with others, and events in the world. His long-standing engagement with BMX street culture for over a decade also forms a foundation of his creative practice.
These “monsters” are made using borosilicate glass, a highly durable material that resists deterioration over time and is strong enough to withstand impact. Through this exhibition, viewers can experience the striking physical presence unique to glass as a medium.
The exhibition presents works produced between around 2019, when the artist began creating, and 2023. The early works carry a distinctly different atmosphere from his current practice, making this a rare opportunity to trace the evolution of his work.
