この度、四季彩舎では「瀬戸優展 森にまよえば」を開催いたします。
四季彩舎では3年ぶりとなる、彫刻家・瀬戸優の個展。本展では「森にまよえば」と題し、全身像の小動物作品を中心に約20点を展覧いたします。
作品に生命感を与える玉眼と、粘土の質感を活かした毛並みの抽象的表現は、鑑賞者に確かな生命の気配を感じさせます。近年ますます作家としての存在感を高めている瀬戸優の世界を、ぜひご高覧ください。
ステートメント
森に足を踏み入れたとき、視界は狭くなり、遠くは見えなくなる。
ふと足に目を向けると、原寸大の小さな命が力強く息づいている。
やがて森を抜けた先で、視界はひらけ、空が現れる。
鳥たちはそれぞれのかたちで空を渡り、自由に生きている。
本展では、森の中をさまよう感覚から、森を抜け空を仰ぐ感覚へと至る、ひとつの移動の物語を表現した。

SHIKISAISHA is pleased to present Yu Seto: Lost in the Forest.
This exhibition marks Seto’s first solo presentation with the gallery in three years and features approximately 20 works, primarily full-body sculptures of small animals.
Seto’s works are distinguished by the use of glass eyes that imbue each figure with a vivid sense of life, alongside an abstract rendering of fur that makes full use of the tactile qualities of clay.
Together, these elements evoke a palpable presence, allowing viewers to sense the quiet vitality of each creature.
As his practice continues to gain increasing recognition, this exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter the evolving world of Yu Seto.
Artist Statement
When one steps into a forest, the field of vision narrows, and the distance disappears from sight.
Looking down, small lives—rendered at life scale—breathe quietly yet with undeniable presence.
Eventually, as one emerges from the forest, the view opens, and the sky comes into sight.
Birds cross the sky in their own ways, living freely.
This exhibition traces a journey—from the sensation of wandering within the forest to the moment of emerging from it and looking up at the open sky.
