In this interview, he shares the background of his creative process, the concepts behind the Frosted Window and Curtain series, and his perspective on positioning his works as “tools that inspire the viewer’s imagination.”
角谷は1993年兵庫県神戸市生まれ。東京藝術大学大学院博士後期課程美術専攻日本画研究領域を修了し博士号を取得。日本美術の精神性を土台にしながらも、現代の感性と記憶を映し出す作品は、私たちの日常に新たな視座をもたらします。
Born in Kobe in 1993, Kakutani completed his doctoral degree at Tokyo University of the Arts, specializing in Japanese painting. While rooted in the spirit of Japanese aesthetics, his works—emerging from contemporary sensibilities—reflect memory and everyday life, offering viewers a fresh perspective.
