このたび四季彩舎では、8年ぶりとなる山本靖久の個展を開催いたします。
山本は近年、「豊かさ」をテーマに制作を続けてきました。現代社会に溢れる物質的・情報的な「豊かさ」への問いかけとして、人間や動物、花、山、水といった自然のモチーフをふくよかで丸みを帯びた形象に描き、精神的・肉体的に豊かであったであろう原初の風景を表現しています。
また、カゼインテンペラ、アクリル、墨などの水溶性絵具を用い、キャンバスや板、麻紙に描くことで、即興性や偶然性に重きを置きつつ「日本人の絵画空間」を探求してきました。その画面には独特の手触りが宿り、観る者にゆるやかな時間の流れを感じさせます。
今回の展覧会タイトル「境界—Boundary」は、国境や宗教、価値観の違いがもたらす断絶を前に、芸術がその狭間を埋めることはできるのかという問いから名づけられました。平面・立体・ドローイングなど約15点を出品いたします。
作品を通じて、日常の重苦しい現実から一歩離れ、豊かな時間を感じていただければ幸いです。皆様のご来場を心よりお待ち申し上げます。
アーティストステートメント
私は「豊かさ」というテーマを掲げて制作を続けています。現代は物質や情報に溢れ、その過剰さに押し流されて心に影を落とすことも少なくありません。その反問譜として、精神的にも肉体的にも豊かであったであろう原初の情景を描こうとしています。
人間や動物、花、山、水といったモチーフは「豊かさ」の象徴として登場します。その形象はふくよかで丸みを帯び、生命の充足感を湛えています。また私は「日本人の絵画空間」を求め、平面性や即興性、偶然性といった感性を重視し、カゼインテンペラ、アクリル、墨などの水溶性絵具を用いて、キャンバスや板、麻紙に描いています。その表現には「手触り」が感じられ、観者と作品とのあいだに悠然とした時間が流れることを願っています。
戦争や対立が続く現代において、人々の心はさまざまな境界に引き裂かれています。今回の個展タイトル「境界—Boundary」には、そうした断絶を乗り越え、人の心をつなぎ直す可能性を芸術に託した思いを込めました。作品を前にしたひととき、どうか心安らぐ豊かな時間を感じていただければ幸いです。
SHIKISAISHA is pleased to present “Boundary,” a solo exhibition by Yasuhisa Yamamoto, his first in eight years.
In recent years, Yamamoto has continued to explore the theme of “abundance.” As a response to the material and informational “abundance” that overflows in contemporary society, he depicts motifs such as people, animals, flowers, mountains, and water in rounded, voluminous forms, evoking primordial landscapes where both spirit and body might once have been truly abundant.
Using water-based pigments such as casein tempera, acrylic, and ink on canvas, wood panel, and hemp paper, Yamamoto emphasizes improvisation and chance while pursuing a uniquely Japanese pictorial space. His works embody a tactile quality that allows viewers to experience a gentle and expansive flow of time.
The exhibition title, “Boundary,” arises from the artist’s question of whether art can bridge the rifts created by borders, religions, and differing values. Approximately fifteen works, including paintings, sculptures, and drawings, will be on view.
Through these works, we hope you will step away from the weight of daily realities and experience a moment of abundance and tranquility.
Artist Statement (Yasuhisa Yamamoto)
I have long continued to create works under the theme of “abundance.” Today, while material goods and information overflow, their excess often sweeps us along and casts shadows upon our hearts. In response, I strive to depict primordial landscapes in which both spirit and body might once have been abundant.
Motifs such as people, animals, flowers, mountains, and water appear as symbols of abundance. Their forms are full and rounded, embodying a sense of life’s fulfillment. In seeking a “Japanese pictorial space,” I emphasize flatness, improvisation, and chance, painting with casein tempera, acrylic, and ink on canvas, wood panel, and hemp paper. Through these materials and methods, I hope to evoke a tactile quality in which a leisurely flow of time arises between the viewer and the work.
In a world still marked by wars and conflicts, people’s hearts are torn by countless boundaries. The title of this exhibition, “Boundary,” carries my hope that art may offer a way to overcome such divisions and reconnect human hearts. In the moments spent before my works, I would be deeply gratified if you could feel a sense of peace and abundance.
