About the book
Yu Seto began his artistic career while still at university. Exploring “the integration of natural science into sculptural expression,” he creates life-size animal sculptures in terracotta.
His long-awaited first book focuses on drawing, the essential, often unseen foundation of sculpture.
It includes more than 120 drawings and quick sketches exploring living forms.
From the publisher
Seto has entered the seventh year of his artistic career.
His tireless activity throughout the year and his new experiments continually surprise us.
Focusing on drawings and pen works as well as sculpture, we ask him about his career so far and what lies ahead.
Please note: The exhibition dates were changed and extended following the government’s declaration of a state of emergency.

Yu Seto (b. 1994, Odawara, Kanagawa, Japan) graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts and completed his MFA in Sculpture at the same university. In addition to exhibiting in Japan and internationally, his practice extends across disciplines, including collaborations in fashion and design.
