熊本を拠点に生まれ育った二人の作家による初の二人展を開催いたします。

瀧下和之は、ユーモラスで愛らしい鬼を主人公にした「桃太郎」シリーズをライフワークとし、風神雷神や龍虎などの伝統的題材を独自の発想と大胆な空間感覚で描き出します。その世界は親しみやすくも力強く、現代に新しい物語を息づかせています。

山村龍太郎毅望は、墨やアクリルを用いて花や葉、そこに群れる蟲たちを緻密に描き出します。無数の生命が折り重なり、ひとつの塊として迫る画面は、ときに阿蘇の山並みを思わせ、観る者を圧倒的な生命のうねりへと誘います。

本展「熊本幻視」では、生命の集合体を描き出す山村と、幻想的かつユーモラスな鬼の世界を築く瀧下が、それぞれのまなざしを重ね合わせます。熊本という共通のルーツから生まれる二つの表現が響き合う光景を、ぜひご高覧ください。

This exhibition presents the first duo show by two artists born and raised in Kumamoto.

Kazuyuki Takishita has made his life’s work the “Momotaro” series, featuring humorous yet endearing demons as well as traditional motifs such as Fujin and Raijin or dragons and tigers, reimagined with bold spatial composition and unique perspectives.

Ryutaro Takemochi Yamamura meticulously depicts flowers, leaves, and swarming insects in ink and acrylic. His canvases—masses of interwoven life—at times evoke the ridgelines of Mt. Aso, drawing viewers into an overwhelming surge of vitality.

In Kumamoto Visions, Yamamura’s vision of collective life converges with Takishita’s fantastical and humorous world of demons. Rooted in their shared origins in Kumamoto, the two artists’ expressions resonate to create a powerful dialogue.
