四季彩舎は、ART FAIR TOKYO 2023に出展いたします。
私たちは、新しいものや未知の表現を受け入れるまでに時間を要することがあります。しかし、文化や進化は常にその過程の中から生まれてきました。
本展「New Wave」では、1990年代生まれのアーティスト3名に焦点を当て、その現在地をご紹介します。
瀬戸優は、野生動物をモチーフとした彫刻作品を制作しています。テラコッタという素材を用いることで、手の痕跡や制作のプロセスがそのまま表面に現れ、生命感と躍動感を伴った造形を生み出しています。近年は国内外のアートフェアにも積極的に参加し、活動の幅を広げています。
角谷紀章は、「他者に想像させること」を主軸に制作を行っています。「Frosted Window」や「Curtain」シリーズでは、すりガラスやカーテン越しの風景をモチーフに、視覚を遮るノイズを画面に取り入れることで、鑑賞者の知覚を揺さぶり、想像力を喚起します。曖昧さの中に立ち上がるイメージは、観る者を絵画の内部へと引き込みます。
平良光子は、生き物のかたちを用いた木彫作品を通じて、静謐で詩的な世界を提示します。聖書や詩、民話などから着想を得た作品は、物語の断片を内包しながら、観る者に静かな余韻を残します。
本展では、彼らが現代において新たな表現に挑戦する過程を提示するとともに、その試行錯誤の痕跡をご覧いただけます。

SHIKISAISHA is pleased to present its participation in ART FAIR TOKYO 2023.
While it often takes time for us to embrace new and unfamiliar forms of expression, it is precisely through this process that culture and evolution emerge.
Titled “New Wave,” this presentation focuses on three artists born in the 1990s, highlighting their current practices and perspectives.
Yu Seto creates sculptural works inspired by wild animals. Working primarily with terracotta, his process leaves direct traces of touch and gesture on the surface, resulting in dynamic forms imbued with a strong sense of vitality. In recent years, he has actively participated in art fairs both in Japan and internationally.
Noriaki Kakutani develops his practice around the concept of prompting imagination in others. In series such as “Frosted Window” and “Curtain,” he incorporates visual “noise” inspired by obscured views through frosted glass or curtains. By interrupting clear perception, his works invite viewers to reconstruct the image, fostering a deeper sense of immersion within the pictorial space.
Mitsuko Taira produces wooden sculptures that evoke a quiet and poetic world through organic, living forms. Drawing inspiration from the Bible, poetry, and folklore, her works capture fragments of narrative, leaving a subtle yet lasting resonance.
This presentation offers insight into the artists’ ongoing explorations and the processes behind their evolving practices.

角谷紀章 Kisho Kakutani
角谷紀章（1993年 兵庫県神戸市生まれ）は、2022年に東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科博士後期課程日本画を修了し、博士号（美術）を取得。
スマートフォンで撮影した日常のスナップ写真を題材に、記憶と視覚認識の曖昧さをテーマとした絵画を制作している。
「Frosted Window」や「Curtain」シリーズでは、すりガラスやカーテンを思わせるノイズによってイメージを意図的に隠し、鑑賞者の記憶や想像力による補完を促す。
情報が氾濫する現代における「見る」という行為を問い直し、絵画を新たなイメージを生み出すための「装置」として提示している。
Kisho Kakutani (b. 1993, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan) completed his PhD in Japanese Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2022. Using everyday snapshots taken with his smartphone as source material, he creates paintings that explore the ambiguity of memory and visual perception. In series such as *Frosted Window* and *Curtain*, Kakutani deliberately obscures parts of the image with visual noise resembling frosted glass or curtains, inviting viewers to complete what is unseen through their own memories and imagination. His practice reconsiders the act of seeing in an age of visual overload, positioning painting as a device for generating new images within the viewer’s mind.
瀬戸優 Yu Seto
瀬戸優（1994年 神奈川県小田原市生まれ）は、東京藝術大学美術学部彫刻科を卒業後、同大学大学院美術研究科修士課程彫刻専攻を修了。
自然科学への関心を基盤に、主にテラコッタを用いて野生動物を主題とした彫刻作品を制作している。
作家の触覚や制作の軌跡を表面に残す ことで、生命の構造や動き、存在の本質を捉えようと試みている。
国内外で作品を発表するほか、ファッションやデザインなど領域を横断した活動も展開している。
Yu Seto (b. 1994, Odawara, Kanagawa, Japan) graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts and completed his MFA in Sculpture at the same university. Drawing on his interest in natural science, he creates sculptures of wild animals, primarily using terracotta. By leaving traces of his touch and the sculpting process visible on their surfaces, Seto explores the structures and movements of living beings and the essence of their existence. In addition to exhibiting in Japan and internationally, his practice extends across disciplines, including collaborations in fashion and design.
平良光子 Mitsuko Taira
1996年長野県安曇野市生まれ。
東京藝術大学大学院修士課程修了。
生き物の姿を通して、静謐な世界を木彫で表現する。
聖書や詩、民話などから着想を得て、
物語の一場面を詩情豊かに立ち上げる。
柔らかな毛並みや体温を感じさせる繊細な表現は、
生き物への深いまなざしと愛情を映し出している。
Mitsuko Taira
Born in Azumino, Nagano in 1996.
Completed her MFA at Tokyo University of the Arts.
Her work explores a quiet and contemplative world through wooden sculptures of living beings.
Drawing inspiration from the Bible, poetry, and folklore,
she creates poetic scenes that evoke moments from imagined narratives.
Her delicate attention to texture—suggesting soft fur and warmth—
reflects a deep sensitivity and affection toward living creatures.
