新しい年を祝い大丸東京店10階ART GALLERY１・２では合同で新年レセプションパーティを開催します。

この度、大丸東京店10階ART GALLERYにて、注目の若手美術家、菊池玲生、樋口絢女、松岡勇樹による3人展「SHIFT」を開催します。

“SHIFT”という言葉には、「変化する」「片方から片方へ動かす」といった意味があります。

菊池玲生は、歴史的な絵画イメージを切り取り再構成しながら、「見る」という行為そのものを問い直す作品を制作います。彼の作品は、鑑賞者に「目に見えるものの奥にある構造や意味」に気づかせ、視覚体験を新しい次元へとシフトさせます。

樋口絢女は、伝統的な日本絵画の素材や構図をベースにしながらも曖昧なフォルムの記憶をモザイクやノイズといったデジタル要素を取り入れ表現し、新たな絵画の可能性を探っています。

松岡勇樹は、コロナ禍に事故と病による利き腕の手術を経験。入院中、一時期描けなくなった恐怖の中、病室から眺める雲の生成と消滅に「はじまりもおわりもない」と感じ、動かせる左手で点描をはじめ新しい表現に目覚めていきます。

彼らは、常に表現することと向き合いながら生きていく中で、己も様々な変化をしながら、鑑賞者にも変化の存在を意識させ問いかけてきます。そして鑑賞者は変化を意識するのと同時に、対極に存在する普遍的な存在にも気づかされるのかもしれません。

2025年から2026年への年の節目に、彼らが今、向き合い取り組む「SHIFT（変化）」を会場でぜひ感じていただきたいと思います。

We are pleased to announce “SHIFT,” a three-person exhibition featuring emerging artists Reo Kikuchi, Ayame Higuchi, and Yuki Matsuoka, to be held at ART GALLERY on the 10th floor of Daimaru Tokyo.

The word “SHIFT” carries meanings such as “to change” or “to move from one side to another.” Each artist in this exhibition explores a form of transformation—of vision, of perception, and of their own artistic journey.

Reo Kikuchi creates works that reexamine the very act of “seeing” by cutting out and reconstructing historical pictorial imagery. His paintings prompt viewers to recognize the structures and meanings that lie behind what is visible, shifting the visual experience into a new dimension.

Ayame Higuchi bases her work on the materials and compositional principles of traditional Japanese painting, while incorporating digital elements such as mosaics and noise to express the ambiguous remnants of form. Through this approach, she explores new possibilities in contemporary painting.

Yuki Matsuoka underwent surgery on his dominant arm following an accident and illness during the COVID-19 pandemic. While hospitalized—confronted with the fear of temporarily losing the ability to draw—he observed clouds forming and dissipating outside his window and sensed a world “without beginnings or endings.” Using the hand he could move, he began creating pointillist works, awakening to a new form of expression.

Each of these artists confronts the act of creation as a way of living, undergoing their own transformations while compelling viewers to reflect on the presence of change. At the same time, these shifts may also heighten our awareness of what remains constant and universal.

As we stand at the threshold between 2025 and 2026, we invite you to experience the “SHIFT”—the transformations these artists are engaging with—through their works in the gallery.
