山﨑なつ子は、2006年に東京藝術大学美術学部絵画科油画専攻を卒業。

優れた作品に宿る、言葉では捉えきれない「何か」としか言いようのない感覚こそが芸術の醍醐味であると捉え、目には見えない想いや記憶をかたちにすることをテーマに制作を続けている。

アルキド樹脂やグリッターを画材に用い、光と素材の質感を際立たせた半立体的な画面を特徴とする。作品は光を集めることで艶やかに輝き、鑑賞者の視点や空間によってその表情を変えながら、感情の気配や記憶の層を静かに立ち上がらせる。

山﨑は、日常の中に潜む言語化できない感覚や、個人的な記憶の断片を素材やモチーフを通して昇華することで、絵画という表現の可能性を探求してきた。

また、芸術が人の心に光を灯し、世界をより豊かなものへと開く存在であるという信念のもと、新たな領域へ踏み出す行為そのものを創作の原動力としている。

Natsuko Yamazaki graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006.

She approaches artistic practice through an interest in the indefinable “something” that resides within compelling works—an element that resists language yet forms the essence of artistic experience. Her practice centers on giving form to invisible emotions and fragments of memory.

Using alkyd resin and glitter as her primary materials, Yamazaki creates semi-relief compositions that emphasize the interaction between light and materiality. Her works gather and reflect light, producing a lustrous surface that subtly shifts in appearance depending on the viewer’s perspective and the surrounding space, evoking quiet emotional resonances and layers of memory.

Through her work, Yamazaki seeks to sublimate sensations and recollections that emerge from everyday life but remain difficult to articulate. Grounded in the belief that art has the power to enrich the world and illuminate the inner lives of its viewers, she regards the act of stepping into new and uncertain territory as a vital force in creation. Her practice continues to explore painting as a means of bringing light to the unseen.
